Here is more information about this free community service. -Karlene McHenry County College to Offer Free Tax Preparation Help McHenry County College will host free tax assistance for those who qualify beginning January 19 - April 13 (excluding March 23, 27 and 30). Hours are 10am to 1 pm on Saturdays and 5:30 to 8:30 pm on Wednesdays in Room A102 at the college, 8900 U.S. Hwy. 14 in Crystal Lake. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Clinic prepares tax returns for individuals or households with incomes less than $50,000.
